On a glorious Sydney summer day, Richard Hogg of Bonnie Doon Golf Club won the GMA NSW Opening Event at Elanora Golf Club with an impressive score of 39 points.
“This is a stunning golf course,” Hogg said during the presentation ceremony. “I’ve never played here before and a few of the holes like the 14th and 15th felt like Augusta or Bonville. I’ll be back.”
Hogg played alongside new GMA NSW members Tim Gahan of Avondale Golf Club and Brett Holdway of Cypress Lakes as well as InGolf and Utility Corporate Partner Luke Roberts.
“We had a great day and I really enjoyed the boys company,” Hogg said.
Glenn Phillips, General Manager of Concord Golf Club finished second on the day with a score of 36 points and was part of the City Team to take out the regional title. He was joined by Hogg, Bill Basan of Cabramatta (35 pts) and Ben Russell (32 pts) of Long Reef Golf Club with a total score of 142 points.
David Harris of Banktech was the Best Sponsor/Guest with a score of 37 points followed closely by Kirk McDonald of MPower with a score of 35 points.
Sixty eight players travelled to the northern beaches for the event and enjoyed light refreshments from corporate partners Schweppes, Lion Australia, De Bortoli and Garlos.
The winners took home great prizes supplied by Callaway, such as the Hyperlite 3 Stand golf bag, “Ogio’ Bandit back pack and always useful golf umbrella.
The next GMA NSW event is the Professional Development Roadshow featuring esteemed accountant Richard Comerford talking about finance and accounting for Clubs. The program takes place at Ryde Parramatta on Tuesday 12 March, Belmont Golf Club on Thursday 14 March and Bathurst Golf Club on Friday 15 March 2019.
