Kooringal Golf Club, based in Altona, Victoria is looking to recruit a Director of Golf to manage the day-to-day operations of the Club’s golf department in a truly member-centric fashion.
As a member of the club’s leadership team, you will have input towards our future strategic direction. You will also need to have a keen eye for detail and enjoy a hands-on approach to all facets of our golf operation activities, with a major focus on building our golf services.
The Role – Key Requirements
We are seeking a suitably experienced PGA Member to lead and manage the golf department team to consistently exceed the expectations of our Members and guests.
The right applicant will have a strong work ethic, a passion for customer service and helping people, be committed to ongoing incremental improvement, possess impressive communication skills, and have genuine leadership qualities.
The Director of Golf will manage the entire day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop and Teaching areas including management of:
- All key golf related member services;
- Competitions, electronic prize distribution, and electronic timesheets;
- Merchandising, retail sales, stock control and point of sale systems;
- Staff development, mentoring, training, rostering and payroll;
- Engagement with the community through the delivery of golf programs;
- Corporate golf events that can maximise yield.
Additional Expectations and Benefits
This full-time salaried position requires regular weekend work, with limited time available to conduct tuition. The successful applicant for this position must be a PGA Member, ideally with a Certified status under the PGA’s ACE Program, as well as preferably being Advanced in a relevant ACE stream (Small Business, Coaching, Game Development, Management) – this is seen as an indicator of engagement in ongoing training and development.
You must also have or be willing to complete the PGA’s Workplace Training Program with the role requiring the indenturing of a PGA Trainee. You will receive a competitive salary, ongoing professional development and a range of other benefits, all dependent upon your experience and qualifications.
