Adam Hays wins Excellence in Golf Club Management Award

Thaxted Park’s Adam Hays has taken out the 2018 GMASA Excellence in Golf Club Management Award presented at the 2018 SA Golf Industry Awards Night gala dinner held at The Playford Hotel on Saturday, 27th October 2018.

Adam has been one of the key drivers behind the renewed success and re-imagining of Thaxted Park Golf Club in recent years.  His professionalism and business nous, combined with a willingness to work hard and smart, have played a significant part in enabling the Club to recover from some difficult times.

As General Manager, he has been integral in several large-scale projects, including a course re-development, clubhouse refurbishment and the establishment of the clubs restaurant.

In addition to investment in the course and infrastructure, the club has increased membership over 40% in the previous four years and introduced pathways to golf in the local community, including school programs, junior clinics and academies and a focus on female introductory clinics; thus ensuring the club enjoys a sustainable membership future.

The club has undergone significant improvements in recent times and this could only be achieved by Adam’s performance in co-ordinating these projects simultaneously.

Another GMASA member award winner from the evening was Matt Chesterman, who accepted the Legends SA Pro-Am of the Year award for his club’s Air Diffusion Agencies, Vines of Reynella Legends Pro-Am.  In making the announcement, MC Ben Hook stated, “The 2018 recipient was supported on all levels by club staff and some incredible passionate members with a love of the game and importantly, love for the club and community. The golf course was exceptional and hospitality was perhaps as good as anywhere you’ll see on the 2018 Ladbrokes Legends Tour of Australasia.
