GMAWA is excited to announce the appointment of part-time Executive Officer Nicole Martino. Nicole has now officially commenced in the role albeit in a handover stage until 22 June where incumbent Lindsay Stade officially retires at the GMAWA Annual General Meeting.
Nicole has recently completed a Bachelor of Business in Sport Management and has been a member of the PGA of Australia for 5 years. She has a background in golf course operations and sports administration and although her career has shifted away from the golf course in recent years Nicole is still a keen golfer.
Nicole was recently introduced to the GMAWA members at the last Business Meeting, with GMAWA Chair Brad Dawson indicating GMAWA “were delighted to have Nicole on board, given her strong background in sports administration and her understanding of the environment golf club managers work within”.
“Nicole’s first project will focus on the planning and coordination of the upcoming GMAWA State Conference in September, with Nicole also working closely with GMA Executive Officer on the “One GMA” project currently underway”.
Retiring Executive Officer Lindsay Stade has been in the Executive Officer role for 6.5 years, and also had an extended period in Club management as General Manager of Mount Lawley Golf Club for 14.5 years. During this time Lindsay was awarded Fellow status of GMAWA.
GMAWA and GMA would like to thank Lindsay for his outstanding contribution to GMAWA and the membership and wish him all the best in his retirement.
